The National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) recently recognized the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation’s Centerpointe Dining Commons with a 2022 Loyal E. Horton Dining Award.
The prestigious Loyal E. Horton Dining Award annually celebrates and recognizes exemplary campus dining services in higher education across North America.
Centerpointe Dining Commons earned a bronze award under the “Residential Dining Facility – Large School” category, competing with facilities at prestigious campuses like Harvard University and the University of Notre Dame.
Participants were required to submit a detailed book showcasing the dining facility’s menu, design, marketing, nutrition, sustainability, and overall wow factor. The book included numerous images, descriptions, and examples of how Centerpointe met the judging criteria.
The Loyal E. Horton Dining Award submission was a collaboration between foundation’s Dining Services team and marketing department.
The foundation will be honored at the NACUFS national conference held in late July. All entries will be on display during the event, and CPPF will be publicly recognized at the dining awards luncheon.
